Composite veneers utilize the same type of material that would be used when doing a tooth colored filling to address a small fracture or decay. The results of having composite veneers placed can be seen immediately.
After it is determined that you would be a good candidate for this procedure, you will come to a scheduled appointment where Dr. Majidian will bond the composite (tooth colored filling) to the front side of your teeth and sculpt it beautifully to help boost your smile. It comes in many shades that can create a near seamless blend to your natural tooth structure. As with anything in life, things happen and teeth can chip or become discolored. With composite veneers you are much more easily able to repair them.
There are a few limitations of composite veneers, however. While composite can be polished to a high shine, it does tend to pick up stain over time that is not seen when utilizing porcelain. The level of staining and time at which it can be noticeable will depend on your diet or if you are a smoker. On average, we see that these may need to be to be replaced on average every 5-10 years. Another limitation are for those people with very unique looking teeth. Small tints and shades can be added to composite veneers but overall unique looking cases are best completed using porcelain to achieve optimal results.
